The Fred's Farm Story

Fred Osborn started this farm in 2011 with the goal of creating a stable, sustainable source of organic vegetables for our community. We're growing on prime agricultural soil and practice regenerative farming techniques that will slowly increase the land's fertility.

We're managing 14 acres including a creek and a small woodlot and use sustainable practices including crop rotation, cover cropping and compost preparation to manage fertility as well as pest and disease pressure. We currently grow over 30 varieties of vegetables and herbs and have plans to add berries and fruit trees as well.

We currently have about 5 acres in production and more ground almost ready, with a little room for further expansion. This season we plan to add 1 more acre. Our goal is to provide enough for our 4 big market "segments" : wholesale, CSA, Farmstand, and direct markets.

Our roadside Farm Stand is open daily June through October. You'll find a wide selction of our fresh-picked produce, U-pick flowers, the occasional baby bunny, as well as a variety food and gifts from other local producers  mostly organic, always GMO-free!

Mike and Arden did such a great job producing an awesome harvest for four years. We wish them well.

Currently the farm is managed by long time grower Ben Brewster.  He will try to emulate the production of his predecessors.  Ben will upgrade the farm stand, augment the CSA and add school and business accounts.
